Set-Aside
Also known as: Small Business Set-Aside
A set-aside is a federal contracting tool that restricts competition to a specific category of small business (e.g., 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB) for a particular procurement. Set-asides do not change the CMMC requirements that apply — a small business prime is subject to the same FAR 52.204-21 safeguarding requirements as a large prime.
